The Bastard Fairies & Bill O’Rielly

Wednesday, December 13th, 2006

You Tube had a video narrated by a 8-year old girl who rips Bill O’Rielly a new one. Very entertaining video. What follows after that is Bill O’Rielly’s response to the video. I am apalled at the narrow mindedness of O’Rielly and his show! (I’m not a regular watcher so I don’t know if he is like this usually)

If you didn’t notice who is behind the first video, please visit The Bastard Fairies. They have their entire album available to download for free. My favorite song is “We’re all going to hell“.

Tekken

Saturday, September 10th, 2005

After a long night of poker last night, I was dropping Karthik off at his place when I decided to challenge him to a game of Tekken. Now those of you who know Karthik, Tekken is the only thing he talks about. He has this player called Paul and Karthik knows all of his secret moves and such.

So we start playing and I pick this random player called Nina. I beat him in the first game and Karthik shakes it off saying that it was only his first game. He manages to beat me in the second game. However, the third game around, I beat him two rounds in a row. That makes the score 2-1 in my favor. So since this was a rare occurance, I said thats it Karthik! Best out of 3 and I won.

But no was not to be taken as an answer by Karthik so he challenges me to another two games so that the score is best of 5 instead of best of 3. I said OK … and the next game, I get beat.

So it all comes down to this last fifth game -
Round 1) I beat Karthik but take some beating myself
Round 2) Karthik knocks me out early in the round

At this point, the tension is mounting and the whole scenario rests on this last round. But I am not to falter or get nervous.

Round 3) I beat Karthik without taking a hit! “PERFECT” said the screen.

I was jumping up and down in jubilation. I think this is the last time I am playing Tekken 4 because I know Karthik is at home practicing with Paul and I frankly have proved my point - I can beat Karthik at Tekken.

Xbox 360 - 299.99 or 399.99?

Microsoft sets price for Xbox 360 - Aug. 17, 2005

“Microsoft Wednesday announced two pricing plans for its next generation video game console. When the Xbox 360 goes on sale this holiday season, buyers will be able to purchase a no-frills version for $299.99 or a bells-and-whistles version for $399.99.
The less-expensive core system will feature only the Xbox 360 console with a controller, which has to be plugged into the system to play games. The $400 option will come with a 20 GB hard drive, a wireless controller, a headset (used for talking with other players online) that stylistically matches the Xbox 360 and, for a limited time, a remote control allowing users to more easily access the machine’s multimedia functions.”

Isn’t it quite obvious which version one would buy … for an extra 100 dollars, you get wireless controller, 20 gb harddrive and a headset … well worth the money. Most people don’t want to spend 400 on it though but this is just an example of Microsoft’s market policies and price discrimination.

“Hardware’s not all that’s going to cost more as the next generation of video games begins. Most major publishers have quietly acknowledged that major games will cost $59.99, a $10 jump over current prices.”

How small is the new PS2 (PlayStation 2)?

Friday, February 18th, 2005

I just got my new PS2 (PlayStation 2) yesterday. I was surprised to see how small it was. I took some pictures of it compared to the XBox and my brother’s hand to show you how small it was. I’ll let the pictures talk -

PS2 Controller

Thursday, December 11th, 2003

Just got my extra controller for the PS2 yesterday and I hooked it up as soon as I came home. Then I whooped my brother’s ass in a quick best of 3 matchup. We played MotoGP … a motorcycle racing game. I’m not a big fan of the game but unfortunately, that’s the only multiplayer game I own.

I now proclaim myself as the new Video Game King (having defeated the previous title owner that is)

Age of Empires 2 and women

Saturday, December 6th, 2003

For those who know what this game means, a little heads up. I played a game with Ami over the internet and to tell you honestly, she ahem well ahem ahem, kinda came out victorious due to some misalignment of the stars. My point being … I’m never going to underestimate the skills of women at certain things like things that involve power. I don’t think I’ve heard the end of it from her yet.

GTA3 & Matrix Revolutions

Friday, November 7th, 2003

Well, this started out as a comment to Gokul’s recent post. But I just wrote too much and decided to turn into a post. So if it sounds very connected to Gokul’s post, believe me it is!

My copy of GTA 3 just came in and I’m spending just a little bit too much time in front of the PS2. However, since I don’t have a memory card yet, I haven’t done a lot of missions. However, if you need advice on how to get into trouble with the cops … I got you covered.

Matrix Revolutions was a very nice movie. I don’t know what people (like gokul) are complaining about. The end could be stretched a wee bit but thats all the complaining I’ll do. I am definitely buying the 3 disc DVD edition when it is released. Apart from that, kudos to the Wachowski (however you spell that) brothers.
