My phone was having problems with the speakerphone so i went ahead and got it exchanged for a new one. However, once I got into that store, I spent more money on this bluetooth headset. Its pretty cool cuz its wireless and I can walk about 30 feet away from my phone and still be talking to whoever.

This thing is just awesome … you leave it on and it will clean for 2 hours and when the battery is about to die, it will run back to its base (charger) and start its charging cycle.

I think this is by far the best piece of engineering I have seen in probably a decade.

Okay, let’s try this. Anthony Casalena said that he will enable XML feeds as a free resource. But I need you guys to check a little check box on your websites to make sure it gets published.

1) Go to Website manager
2) On the right, in the Quick Actions section, click the first link “Add content to your website”
3) Scroll down to your journal and click the right most link called “configure”
4) Scroll down to the third section titled “Journal Syndication Options” and MAKE SURE “Syndicate as XML” IS CHECKED! you can leave the other fields empty or as they are.
5) Click “Modify Module” at the bottom to save this change.

Once you do that, I should be able to pull your feeds again for AllBlogs. Let’s hope this works.

In light of the recent mishap with ALLBLOGS, I emailed Squarespace with the following message-

Subject: Squarespace Inquiry – I’d like to report a problem
————————————————————-

The ATOM, RSS and RDF feeds for ALL Squarespace websites show an XML
error. For further reference please see:

http://pranav.squarespace.com/journal/atom.xml

I access about 7 SquareSpace users’ websites and used their feeds to
read their blogs. All of them have malfunctioned starting yesterday.

And this is the response I got from them-

If you view source on that page–you will notice that Squarespace is
restricting XML syndication due to the account level of the account
you’re referencing. XML syndication is limited to users with basic or
higher accounts.

We will revisit if we should make this a free feature or not–though it
was always listed as a basic level feature, I believe.

Thanks for the heads up, though. We’ll adjust the error message to look
ok in XML.

–
Anthony Casalena
Squarespace, Inc.

Basically, Anthony is trying to point out that the FEEDS were a PAID feature. That is some BS because most of your accounts had expired and were downgraded to FREE accounts and you still had access to the FEEDS.

Matter of fact, he changed the error message from a general XML message to the following-

«?xml version=”1.0″ encoding=”UTF-8″ ?»

Anybody who has Verizon is familiar with their rip-off scheme called GetItNow. So earlier this week, I decided that this is it! I am going to find a way to GET AROUND GetItNow.

3 Days later, I have new found respect for my skills and a way to take pictures and songs from my computer and put them on my phone as wallpapers and RINGTONES!

Don’t ask me how I did it cuz that would get too technical. Let’s just say that it wasn’t easy. In short, it involves copying everything on the phone to the computer and then changing the ringtones and wallpaper and putting everything back on the phone. It works even though it sounds simple!

The only regret I have is that my phone sucks! It can only take clips that are about 4 seconds long (Good Quality Sound) or 8 seconds (Low Quality Sound). All that work for 4 seconds of audio? It may be worth it.

Any suggestions on what I can put on there that would sound good in 4 seconds? I CAN record my own voice also but that’s too cheesy. I am very happy now! Verizon can kiss my behind!

There is a new toy on the market for Gynecologists and Obstetricians. It is the new 4-D Ultrasound. This thing is uh … amazing … uh … I tell you.

Though available commercially since the 1960s, ultrasound was not widely accepted until the mid-1970s, when additional advances in technology would contribute to better image quality.

The latest advances in ultrasound are 3D and 4D imaging. To create 3D images, an ultrasound system determines the volume of a subject – for example, a baby. The system then reconstructs the image in three dimensions. As for 4D Ultrasound, it can gather 3D volumes and instantly reconstruct them into moving images.

Check out this video below. Watch carefully … you’ll catch the baby yawn near the end.

You can find more videos here.
For more information, visit GE here.

This is truly amazing. God bless scientists and engineers.

One thing for sure is that a 3.0GHz processor with a Gigabyte of RAM and 200GB of hard disk space is not outside our grabs. But still, there is something missing. The computers, they … er they are not exactly mind numbing fast. Don’t get me wrong. They are faster than my 266MHz 128Mb RAM 6GB HD. They’re much faster than that … but are they fast fast?

I guess the ability to crunch numbers faster than a human was achieved by the most primitive of calculators. But that fact is given the premise that the computer already has its input in machine form. I guess what I am saying is that the computer may be able to think fast but can it relate its thinking to us fast enough?

You push on a button and a computer fan turns on and you see some garbage on the screen comparable to your garbage every morning you wake up. But do I really want to see a computer go through its early morning chores? Answer is no. I mean if a computer is so fast, then why can’t it turn on so fast? Why is the fastest computer forced to display, “loading your personal settings …”? Isn’t the point of having a fast machine to surpass your own thinking powers?

Then why is it that it seems that sometimes YOU are waiting for the computer to work and not vice-versa? All those times when the stupid machine is on standby and you move your mouse and wait about 5 seconds for the CRT (Monitor) to turn on. Then you type in your password and it takes forever for it to let you start working on something constructive. Everytime you click on Internet Explorer, you wait for it to LOAD!

Everytime you visit a website, you wait for it to LOAD. I mean what more than a 3MBPS download does hotmail.com need for me to read my messages without waiting for it to take a crap? I guess everything just seems fast but I think the most important thing that needs to be fast is still slow. And that is the freakin’ I/O (Input/Output) interface in use by computers.

Will I see the day when I think something and the darn machine will have processed it for me to think ahead without taking a coffee break? Will I see the day when there will be no waiting for the computer to LOAD or WORK? Will I see the day when this darn machine that I am typing on will understand my frustrations? Will I?

I’m looking for a good and cheap TV Tuner card. Anybody have suggestions? I looked at the AITech WaveWatcher TV-PCI card (OEM version)

The only problem … this version is not suppoted under Windows XP.

So let me know if you guys have any suggestions or anything. By the way, I bought the Logitech Z-640 speaker system after reconsidering the proposition a million times. I had a $50 gift certificate from 2 years ago that I never used and it was about to expire. So I exchanged it for an Amazon.com gift certificate and got the following system for $46.94 and free shipping.

Thanks to Vishal, I am satisfied with my purchase. I am fulfilling a lifelong dream of having a TV in the bedroom. Ami, dare you say anything … just anything and you won’t hear the end of it ever! In any case, I am planning to hook up my PS2 to my computer which would be awesome! What do y’all think?
