Help - What utility is this?
I just discovered a ‘feature’ on my computer. When I press a button on my Microsoft Mouse which (Labeled ‘Instant Viewer’ in control panel), I get the following-
This is basically a window switching utility. Trouble is, I NEVER INSTALLED ANY SUCH UTILITY! I can’t complain - I actually like this. However, I would still like to figure out how I got to benefit this little feature. And just so we are clear, I don’t believe in a guardian angel.
Here is a list of software that I recently installed-
- Safari
- FolderShare
- Digsby
- Google Desktop
Please leave a comment with your guess!

It’s a Microsoft intellimouse feature, installed as part of intellipoint software. http://blogs.msdn.com/kamvedbrat/archive/2007/01/18/instant-viewer-in-the-new-intellipoint-software-for-windows-vista.aspx

I’m not familiar with mac’s expose but this particular utility simply shows me a thumbnail of all active windows and lets me click on them to bring one forward

Yep, that’s exactly what expose does on a mac. it’s a very neat feature, actually many third party programs actually sell that try to emulate the effect with windows.
