Trying my best to hold on
Here is the current system properties of my main Desktop:

I’ve been trying my best to hold on and not buy a new computer so that I can buy one with Windows Vista preloaded. However yesterday, the computer was really testing my patience. See for yourself:

The Page file peaked at 1.2GB!! And people call me crazy for wanting a PC with 4GB of RAM. I’m gonna hold … I’m gonna hold.
I have to tell myself that by the time Windows Vista is out, RAM will be cheaper and I can buy Windows Vista preloaded so that I don’t have to pay unrealistic amounts to buy a copy.
I have no clue how I will wait!

What the hell were you runing that your memory usage shot through the roof. Check it out. You might have some program that has trememdous amounts of memory leaks. Either that, or you are doing some good ol’ movie ripping.
In anycase, monitor your memory usage. Its mainly that which is slowing down your machine.
I think my computer had been on for a few days with 2 active sessions being used alternatively, I had thunderbird running, and nothing major really. BTW, movie ripping is not for me yet, bittorrents do the job just fine.
Thrashing baby, thrashing!
in the spirit of geek talk – i just ran out of space on my laptop; Used Space: 34 GB, Free Space: 714 MB.
