Screw Verizon’s GetItNow!
Anybody who has Verizon is familiar with their rip-off scheme called GetItNow. So earlier this week, I decided that this is it! I am going to find a way to GET AROUND GetItNow.
3 Days later, I have new found respect for my skills and a way to take pictures and songs from my computer and put them on my phone as wallpapers and RINGTONES!
Don’t ask me how I did it cuz that would get too technical. Let’s just say that it wasn’t easy. In short, it involves copying everything on the phone to the computer and then changing the ringtones and wallpaper and putting everything back on the phone. It works even though it sounds simple!
The only regret I have is that my phone sucks! It can only take clips that are about 4 seconds long (Good Quality Sound) or 8 seconds (Low Quality Sound). All that work for 4 seconds of audio? It may be worth it.
Any suggestions on what I can put on there that would sound good in 4 seconds? I CAN record my own voice also but that’s too cheesy. I am very happy now! Verizon can kiss my behind!

hi..pranav
i am riting on ur site for the first time
may be verizon is ur operator name.
normally transfering files is an ask for some old mobiles. the new mobiles comin up dont have such a pronb. like the mine nokia 7610 is equipped with a cd. also operators are now providing softwares for older mobiles.. other wise u can do whatever pranav is trying to say above.transfering & then reducing size of files & then again back to mobile.if it does work its gr8i. otherwise others can go for cell upgradation. or may be check up with the operator for softwares for transfering files
Sarthak, may be you are talking about mobiles in India…where the cell phone technology is far more advanced than the United States.
Pranav… proud to see that you were able to HACK your way into the Motorola phone. Where do I get teh link for Samsung??
Ankan man, it’s a whole damn ritual! I’ll hook u up tho … Don’t worry.
yeah i dunno abt US but here technology isnt very advanced. i remember the time mobiles were launched in india the huge 6 inches ericcson mobiles.they were really 1 one hell of a job to work with. i had started to hack them that time by somehow connecting them with the comp. it was fun.!!!!
hm.. no advice from me abt ringtones and stuff.. but i’m commenting anyways cause today i hit all the blogs and commented. dont wanna hurt my record
yo is all blogs down?? i just got “FATAL ERROR: maximum time for …../allblogs exceedded 30 second limit at line 41 and then at line 43″ … darn, now i have to go to each individual one to find out “wus the latest”
yo man … i don’t know what’s wrong!
wow…you all are doing it the hard way. Go to the store you bought your cellphone at,and get the data cable. Than download a copy of DataPilot. if you want an MP3 on your phone, all I had to do was rename the extension from .mp3 to .mid, and it worked fine. Datapilot also lets you go into the root of the phone and play around in there. If you cant find a good version of that, try FutureDial. both do the same things.
