Fashion Show & misc.

Tuesday, August 24th, 2004

The show was great! (My third personally). There was a couple of places where I was so scared that I would forget my steps but I only messed up at one place where my partner also messed up. Other than that, I had tons of fun hangin’ out with Ankan & Varun. More detailed description is available on Ankan’s website.

I got home at 5 from the after party and the after da after party meal at Prince Cafe. Then I had to get up and be at work by 10 am. Pretty stressing but made it and enjoyed working so much that I lost track of time and at 7:15 pm, realized ‘Oh crap! I had to leave by 6:30!’

I am looking for an electric scooter. Problem is that I gotta go from computer building (CSI) to business building (Van Munching) in 10 minutes. I paced it and a brisk walk will take me 16 minutes which is 60% off the desired target. So I’ll need either a bike, an electric/gas scooter or a Segway (I really doubt this one). I thought about bike, but stuff get’s stolen easily plus I’ll need a bike rack on my car, which is way too expensive for my pocket. Next, I could buy an electric scooter for about 180 and ride that to class, fold it up and keep it with me and ride it back to my car and shove it in the trunk.

Those are my options and so far the electric scooter seems the best idea. Anybody have better ideas besides dropping the class?

Vehicles pass through a tollbooth plaza at the George Washington Bridge between New York and New Jersey. Tolls on bridges and highways help pay for construction and maintenance and are a way for transportation departments to generate revenue. New tollbooths offer electronic payment, reducing transit time.

Squarespace is some Bull$hit

Friday, August 13th, 2004

In light of the recent mishap with ALLBLOGS, I emailed Squarespace with the following message-

Subject: Squarespace Inquiry - I’d like to report a problem
————————————————————-

The ATOM, RSS and RDF feeds for ALL Squarespace websites show an XML
error. For further reference please see:
http://pranav.squarespace.com/journal/atom.xml

I access about 7 SquareSpace users’ websites and used their feeds to
read their blogs. All of them have malfunctioned starting yesterday.

And this is the response I got from them-

If you view source on that page–you will notice that Squarespace is
restricting XML syndication due to the account level of the account
you’re referencing. XML syndication is limited to users with basic or
higher accounts.

We will revisit if we should make this a free feature or not–though it
was always listed as a basic level feature, I believe.

Thanks for the heads up, though. We’ll adjust the error message to look
ok in XML.

Squarespace, Inc.
http://www.squarespace.com/

Basically, Anthony is trying to point out that the FEEDS were a PAID feature. That is some BS because most of your accounts had expired and were downgraded to FREE accounts and you still had access to the FEEDS.

Matter of fact, he changed the error message from a general XML message to the following-

«?xml version=”1.0″ encoding=”UTF-8″ ?»
- «!– Generated by Squarespace Site Server v2.0 (http://www.squarespace.com/) on Fri, 13 Aug 2004 16:43:49 BST

«error-message»This premium feature is restricted by your current account level. Please upgrade if you wish to access it.«/error-message»

– New Jersey Gov. Jim McGreevey resigns his post, citing an extramarital homosexual affair.

What is this world coming to? I mean WHY did he have to resign because of that?

You guys should complain to SQUARESPACE because they messed up your FEEDS that were being read by ALLBLOGS. I get the following message on all squarespace websites.

Screw Verizon’s GetItNow!

Friday, August 6th, 2004

Anybody who has Verizon is familiar with their rip-off scheme called GetItNow. So earlier this week, I decided that this is it! I am going to find a way to GET AROUND GetItNow.

3 Days later, I have new found respect for my skills and a way to take pictures and songs from my computer and put them on my phone as wallpapers and RINGTONES!

Don’t ask me how I did it cuz that would get too technical. Let’s just say that it wasn’t easy. In short, it involves copying everything on the phone to the computer and then changing the ringtones and wallpaper and putting everything back on the phone. It works even though it sounds simple!

The only regret I have is that my phone sucks! It can only take clips that are about 4 seconds long (Good Quality Sound) or 8 seconds (Low Quality Sound). All that work for 4 seconds of audio? It may be worth it.

Any suggestions on what I can put on there that would sound good in 4 seconds? I CAN record my own voice also but that’s too cheesy. I am very happy now! Verizon can kiss my behind!

Am I Compatible?

Libra and Libra
Here is a match made in heaven, unless one had an incompatible sign rising at birth. They both have basically the same interests and qualities, so there would be great understanding in the relationship. With this combination there is so much in common and so little negatives against it (a possible incompatible sign rising in either birth chart) there is no hesitation in advising it. Example: Tim Robbins and Susan Sarandon.

Libra and Aries
Opposites attract. Aries brings passionate energy, curiousity and enthousiasm. Libra brings intelligence, courtesy and charm. Despite the significant differences (Aries is sponteneous and direct; Libra is gentle, deliberate and inhibited), it is nevertheless a recipe for romance. Example: Yves Montaud(Aries) and Simone Signoret(Libra).

Libra and Taurus
Both of you are governed by sexy Venus, but you two are so different! The intellectual Libra is attached to refinement, music and dimmed light, while the Taurus wants to skip foreplay and get down to business. As soon as the the first moment’s tension fades away, there is not so much to tell eachother anymore. Example: Juan Perron(Libra) and Evita(Taurus).

Libra and Gemini
A natural, easy combination which flirts affectionately and stimulates a continuous conversation. Although it is not the most passionate relationship, it is generally a good one. Example: Marilyn Monroe(Gemini) and Arthur Miller(Libra).

Libra and Cancer
Cancer is not temperamentally suited to cope with the freedom loving Libra. Libra’s great desire for attention may bring on a period of sulking depression that could create a highly controversial situation. On the positive side though, they could make it. Libra will appreciate Cancer’s loyalty and generosity. Example: Pamela Anderson(Cancer) and Tommy Lee(Libra).

Libra and Leo
The hale and hearty may prove to be too much for the sensitive Libra nature, though they have alot in common that could make for a good combination. Both signs love luxuries, are subject to flattery , and are very artistically inclined. Leo demands constant adulation which a may cause problems. Libra may get the idea what’s good for the goose is good for the gander. Example: Ben Affleck(Leo) and Gwyneth Paltrow(Libra).

Libra and Virgo
Another combination that would have trouble finding marital bliss. There is one thing that Libra can not take and that is criticism, and of course Virgo is a champion in that department. Virgo is very particular to detail, while Libra is easygoing and detest detail. Example: Jada Pinkett Smith(Virgo with Venus in Libra) and Will Smith(Libra with Mars in in Virgo).

Libra and Scorpio
There is much sympathetic magnetism between these two signs. While Scorpio is the more dominant sign of the two, the Libran’s beauty and sense of fair play appeal to Scorpios good judgment. Libra sees all the virtues that she admires in Scorpio, for Scorpio’s sex drive is all Libra’s hope to be. There is much to recommend this union, for they have many sympathies in common. Example: Matt Damon(Libra with three planets in Scorpio) and Winona Ryder(Scorpio with two planets in Libra).

Libra and Sagittarius
Sagittarius ’s philosophy of life may be to much for the free and easy going Libra to cope with. However, this is a good marital combination. Libra will get all the excitement they want if they marry Sagittarius. The only question will be is will Libra’s endurance be able to last through the long haul with the Sagittarius partner? Example: Gwyneth Paltrow(Libra) and Brad Pitt(Sagittarius).

Libra and Capricorn
On the surface these two seem to be on the opposite, but the taciturn Capricorn is very much intrigued by Libra. If Libra does not find the steady Capricorn nature too boring, there is good chance here for a successful marriage. Unless Capricorn can open up a little more there could be problems here. Libra requires affection and Capricorn tends to put it off. Example: Jayne Meadows(Libra) and Steve Allan(Capricorn).

Libra and Aquarius
This could be a good combination for marriage. Aquarians have perfect affinities for Librans. They both love beauty, society, and people, this helps to make this an ideal union. Possibility one of the few problems may be a misunderstanding because a Aquarius mate is unpredictable at times, and for no reason at all, may seek seclusion and refuse to communicate. There may not be monumental disagreements between these two but Libra will need to understand the Aquarian unpredictability. Example: John Lennon(Libra) and Yoko Ono(Aquarius).

Libra and Pisces
Here there is mutual attraction, but it seldom lasts long. This is especially true under intimate circumstances. Pisces will be content with Libra’s exclusive company, but Libra’s love of social affairs may generate jealousy and disharmony in the intimate life. Nothing makes Libra more miserable then a sulky, complaining Pisces. Example: Lotte Lenya(Libra) and Kurt Weill(Pisces).
