Discussion in the restroom?

I think this is all a big conspiracy to trap innocent students. My engineering class has its lectures in the chemistry building. 1402 CHM is the room code with the CHM standing for chem. Today, I had my first discussion for that class today and the room code was 2116 CHE. So I go to the chemistry building and go upstairs to the second floor. I pass 2124 on the right and then I see the restroom. I decide to go in for a quick restroom break before finding my classroom. As I come out, a guy asks me, “Are they having ENEE 244 discussion in there?” It suddenly dawned upon me. I look up above the restroom and see that it is labelled as 2116. WHAT? Must be a typo in the schedule or I must have read it wrong. The reason I say that is because there was no TA when I went into the restroom. So frantically, the other guy, another lost girl and I look for the right classroom. The funny thing is that we met three other girls who had class in 2120 and they were lost just like us. 2120 btw is the women’s restroom. I split up to go to the library and check my emails because I suspected that the instructor emailed about a typo on the room assignments. That went in vain too. Finally, somebody broke it to me … it was 2116 CHE, not CHM! A whole different building. I didn’t end up going because it was too late and it would hurt my dignity to walk in at this point. So I just went back to the Chemistry building as if nothing happened and sat down in the hallway bench and started reading my engineering book as if I was better off doing that anyways instead of attending the stupid discussion.

Smooth move man, at least you weren’t the only one who made the mistake though.

dude, you must have one weird instructor…the thing that doesn’t seem to be explainable is the fact that the girls got the girls restroom number and the guys got the guys’ restroom number. How do you explain that!?

    I’m sorry, I meant the TA ;).

Yup, a very old problem that some “careless” people face every semester! I was fortunately warned beforehand last year when I had a class in that building. And guess what, my few other classmates ended up going to that restroom too. :)
